Aria ("Aria," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered personal color analysis, styling, and wardrobe service based in California, USA, provided through styledbyaria.com and the app at app.styledbyaria.com (collectively, the "Service"). This policy describes the information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have, including rights under California law.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your email address, and a display name if you choose to add one.
- Style profile: details you share to personalize recommendations — such as your coloring, body shape, fit and lifestyle preferences, budget, and constraints.
- Wardrobe content: photos of clothing and accessories you upload, and any descriptions or names you add to them.
- Messages: the questions, photos, and other content you send to Aria in chat.
- Payment information: if you subscribe, your payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive limited billing details (such as your plan, status, and the last four digits / card brand) but do not store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and log data: actions in the Service, feature usage, timestamps, and similar diagnostic data.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you signed in and to understand and improve the Service (see "Cookies and analytics").
Sensitive information
Some information you provide to receive a color analysis — such as descriptions of your hair, skin, or appearance, and any photos you upload — may be considered "sensitive personal information" under California law. We use this information solely to provide the styling features you request, and not to infer characteristics for any other purpose.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, personalize, and operate the Service, including generating color, wardrobe, and styling recommendations.
- To process subscriptions, payments, and related transactions.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and updates.
- To maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. AI processing
To generate recommendations, the content you submit (including text and images) is processed by trusted third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We do not permit these providers to use your content to train their general models, and we do not sell your content. AI-generated recommendations are provided for your consideration and may not always be accurate or complete.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers: vendors who help us run the Service — such as cloud hosting and database, authentication, AI processing, payment processing, email delivery, and analytics — under agreements that limit their use of your information to providing services to us.
- Affiliate links: some product links in the Service are affiliate links. If you click one, the retailer may collect information under its own privacy policy. We may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you; this does not influence whether a piece is right for you.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Aria, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in) and may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand usage and improve features. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how the Service works.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can delete your wardrobe content and request deletion of your account at any time (see your rights below).
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA (including for cross-context behavioral advertising).
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we already use it only to provide the Service you request.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Data location
Aria is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
